There are few locations more ideal for a conference than Barcelona. Hollbridge had a fantastic week at MWC and I met tons of interesting candidates and partners.

I wanted to share the main takeaways and topics that we discussed and what they mean for the RAN, ORAN, and 5G job markets.

1. Sustainability: In every conversation, it was evident that sustainability and reduction in energy consumption was in the forefront of people’s minds. I witnessed some remarkable strides towards increased sustainability, with Parallel Wireless' GreenRAN project standing out to help redefine telecoms for a more sustainable future. Kudos to Nokia for leading the charge by pledging net zero emissions 10 years ahead of schedule!

Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword; it's a pervasive theme that all tech organizations are adopting. Expect a surge in demand for individuals with expertise in renewable energy, green technology, and sustainability strategy over the next 12 months.

2. GenAI Implementation: The integration of AI into phones emerged as a hot topic. From enhancing network robustness to managing data for billions of connected devices, AI is certainly going to transform the telecoms landscape. Exciting to hear how UK Telcos are already seeing a ROI with the implementation of AI, from network automation to predictive maintenance, customer retention, and even RAN energy savings. From what I have seen and heard the implantation of AI in telecoms is only going to ramp up!

Stay ahead in securing the best future-proof jobs by staying abreast of the rapid developments in AI technology and its intersection with telecommunications.

3. Security in the Cloud Era: As we witness an exponential increase in data stored in the cloud, the conversation around cybersecurity has shifted from a luxury to an absolute necessity. Tighter regulations are reshaping the landscape, making cybersecurity a top priority for organizations.

For experts in cloud technology and internet security, this shift presents massive room for growth and opportunities. If you're a company seeking such talent or a candidate looking to make a move, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Hollbridge specializes in sourcing top talent for technology markets. Initially focused on the broadcast and video sectors, expanding into the telecommunications industry has been a logical progression. If you are looking for opportunities or talent in the RAN, ORAN, and 5G market please get in touch with me, Ryan Hawley! I will be happy to help.
