About the role
This is an Individual Contributor position focusing on leveraging the existing network of a candidate. Our client is looking for a high-energy, driven, go get it candidate who is keen to build a strong book of business, from lead generation to the whole sales process.
The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the media industry as well as sales experience with equipment and/or services vendors. They will have successfully sold solutions to this market and thrive within the exciting and rapid transition of the media industry from traditional production and transport architecture to IP. The correct individual will also have a solid technical understanding about the video delivery ecosystem.
As the VP Major Accounts they will be involved primarily in building a pipeline of new customers and opportunities and will have responsibility for meeting and exceeding annual revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Act as the main contact for sales AND technical consultancy efforts to leading media distributors, content owners, and TV station groups needing transport, video processing (digital and linear) and production services
Independently build and leverage contacts to grow new business portfolio
Expand new business with existing customers
Manage a significant number of big media accounts
Exceed annual sales goals and expectations
Qualifications
A cross between technical and commercial background .Someone who can identify business opportunities and talk technology to cloud/ broadcast architects / CTOs etc.
Understanding of Broadcast and Digital Video Transmission workflows
Understanding of cloud-based workflows involving media distribution and contribution
Strong communication skills including presentations as well as written and verbal communication skills (internal and external)
High-energy in finding new business and lead follow-up skills
Proven track record of closing big accounts
Understanding of the complete sales process from pitch to close to on-going account management /support
Familiarity with your large accounts, foreseeing changes and adjustments they might need as technical organizations.
Experience with both legacy and new digital business.
Experience with companies' full content value chain, from production and playout, to
rights management-based customization as well as distribution to both digital and legacy platforms.
Requirements
More than 10 Years of Sales and Business Development experience in markets related to broadcast technology
More than 5 Years of Technical experience with video delivery technologies (preferably with a focus on packaging, streaming, distribution)
Experience working with Comcast / NBCU desirable
Travel is required
